TESTIMONIALS

What Our Patients Say

“If you ever find yourself in need of compassionate, knowledgeable and exceptional care please do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Dr. Hare. My orthopedic surgeon referred me to Dr. Hare due to an open wound after multiple surgeries from a car accident. I’ve had a wound care experience before this and I can say that Dr. Hare and his entire staff are absolutely amazing. They care about you and it shows. Being that I’ve experienced wound care before on a much smaller issue a few years ago and the amount of time that wound took to heal I was expecting this to be at least a year before I would be close to healing. But Dr. Hare and his staff are excellent at what they do and I just had my final appointment after 6 months of exceptional care. Aly is one of the most personable and friendly nurses I’ve encountered she goes out of her way to make you feel cared for. I felt like I made a friend during this experience. I 100% recommend Dr. Hare and Wound Care Hawaii if you find yourself in need of help.”

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Chronic and non-healing wounds can result from a number of factors, including diabetes, poor circulation, infection, inadequate nutrition, medications, trauma, vascular disease, and immobility (which can lead to pressure ulcers, commonly known as “bed sores”). The healing time for wounds varies. Our goal is to heal chronic ulcers in eight to twelve weeks. We will determine the root cause of your non-healing wound and pursue an aggressive treatment plan.

The healing time for wounds varies and is not definitive. It’s important to note that certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or venous deficiencies, can slow down the healing process. To ensure successful and speedy healing, Wound Care Hawaii will provide specific instructions to patients and caregivers on maintaining proper wound care at home.

Most health plans, including Medicare and Medi-Cal, cover wound care treatments.  Feel free to call us at 808-808-1324 to determine what your specific insurance plan covers.

If a patient has an open wound that is not healing properly, they should seek evaluation at a center of excellence for specialized wound care like Wound Care Hawaii. This is especially important for those with diabetes or poor circulation. Chronic wounds may not respond well to treatment for infection and inflammation. A wound that has not improved in four weeks or healed completely in eight weeks is considered a chronic, non-healing wound.
